Envision

Envision provides an unforgettable theatre day for young people with visual impairment...

Mary Poppins - November 2008Envision offers the blind and partically sighted people the chance to attend a an audi-described West End matinee, supported by a morning of stimulating activities designed to enhance their appreciation of the performance. For 2008 the production is Billy Elliot.

The day includes:

  • A 90-minute workshop led by trained theatre educators; practical exercises offering an introduction to the show
  • On-stage touch tour exploring set, props and costumes up close
  • Audio-described* performance with best seats at front of stalls
  • Welcome refreshments and a chance throughout the day to meet other young people with visual impairment

In addition to the above...

  • Young people receive a special CD containing cast interviews, synopsis of the production and music to help them prepare for their theatre visit.
  • Accompanying adults receive a resource pack.
