PowerPlay
PowerPlay uses a theatre production as a centrepiece of a series of in-depth workshops in Pupil Referral Units.
Students (Key Stages 3 or 4) take part in up to 16 hours of classroom-based drama workshops with two theatre practitioners, based on a theatre visit of the teacher's choice. Each project is highly flexible in both content and delivery and is tailor-made to the needs of the individual group.
The emphasis of most projects is on building trust, positive working relationships and social cohesion. The workshops tend to be process led, although they can result in the sharing of a short (up to 5 minutes) presentation.
PowerPlay is generously supported by The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation
Professional Development
