Explore Projects

Specialist SEND projects designed to boost confidence & life skills through drama and creative play.

Led by expert Creative Practitioners, Explore is an in-school project which uses a theatre trip as a stimulus for a series of workshops delivered in school.

All Explore projects can be used to support the Bronze Arts Award and we can help your students fulfil the necessary criteria to gain the qualification.

Each project includes:

  • 7 x 90 minute workshops delivered at your school

  • Twilight CPD session for teachers and LSAs

  • A class theatre trip

The focus of your Explore project can be tailored to suit your needs, addressing any themes, skills or issues you wish to explore. Workshops could focus on one particular topic or skills area, or several.

Some examples from previous projects include:

  • Communication and Confidence: Workshops focused on building self-esteem, confidence and social skills

  • Introduction to Shakespeare: Workshops bringing Shakespeare's most famous stories to life and introducing the text in an accessible way.

  • Multi-sensory environments for PMLD: Multi-sensory exercises and environments that engage students in new and unexpected ways.

  • Performance skills: Workshops exploring specialist skills such as improvisation, devising and script-writing.

Availability & timings

Explore projects can begin at any time during the academic year.

How it works:

1) Following your enquiry via the form below, our Learning Manager will contact you for an initial phone consultation and arrange time for a face-to-face meeting to further discuss your needs and decide on the key objectives for the project. You’ll also agree a timescale for the project and suitable shows for your students to see.

2) We select 2 x Creative Practitioners to deliver the project, who then come to your school for an introductory session with your students to assess their needs. Practitioners will also arrange a planning meeting with you to discuss finer details of the workshop content and objectives.

3) Workshops take place in your chosen timescale.

  • £250 for 7 x 90 minute workshops plus CPD

  • Theatre tickets cost an additional £8 per student

The project helped me show my actual self. It makes us forget about what’s going on around us, takes stuff off our chest as well.
— Feedback from a former student participant
The knock-on effect of that one week has been phenomenal. Students are much more self-assured and
much more confident.
