Summer Stage is our low-cost Performing Arts summer school open to young people aged 13 to 17.
Led-by friendly expert practitioners, participants create an original piece of theatre over the course of 5 days – and get to see a top West End show along the way too!

What’s involved:

Each 1 week course costs just £60 per participant and this includes:

5 days worth of expert-led workshops
5 x lunches
A ticket to see a West End show (with the rest of the group)

Summer Stage Inclusive: Week 1

Designed for: Young people who are brand-new to taking part in drama projects and want to try it out in a fun and supportive environment. We welcome young people who might have mild-moderate learning needs or require special access arrangements.

Key outcomes: Over the course of the week, participants will gain valuable experience of performing and focus on developing skills such as confidence, creativity and communication.

Summer Stage Young Performers: Week 2

Designed for: Those with a bit more experience who are wanting to develop their performance skills – e.g. those who have taken part in school plays, one of our projects or are a member of a theatre club.

Key outcomes: Throughout the week, participants will work on developing professional performance skills as well as have the chance to gain a Bronze Arts Award to add to their CV.

It was amazing! You can come not knowing anyone but make friends with everyone really quickly. You learn new things and performing skills and have fun on stage!
My daughter had a wonderful time and she looked forward to going every day! You made it easy for her to make friends and she bonded very well. They achieved so much in such a short space of time. Well done to the entire team for giving her this wonderful experience!

NB: Due to the low cost, Summer Stage is a hugely popular programme - so we’d always advise applying early! Applications for Summer Stage 2020 will open next Spring. Sign up to our email list to be the first to hear about it!

Summer Stage 2019

Week 2 Summer Stage students eagerly anticipating a performance of Matilda The Musical!

Week 2 Summer Stage students eagerly anticipating a performance of Matilda The Musical!

Huge thanks and congratulations to all the talented young people who took part in this year’s Summer Stage!

Our week 1 inclusive group included 5 young people with additional needs and 2 young carers. After watching School of Rock, our rockstars-in-training wowed us all in their end of week showcase at Soho Theatre.

In Week 2, we welcomed a new cohort, who were keen to develop their confidence and acting skills. After seeing Matilda The Musical, they spent the week exploring and devising a piece on the theme of ‘in your head', which they showcased at the end of the week at Soho Theatre. The performances were truly exceptional and will remain ‘in our heads’ for a very long time!
