Donating to Mousetrap will help us to bring fun, respite, and creativity into the lives of thousands of young people who are struggling in these challenging times.
Our Mission
We are a charity dedicated to enriching the lives of children and young people through theatre, especially those who are disadvantaged or have additional needs.
Through projects designed for individuals, families, schools and youth groups, we open the doors to London’s world-class theatre and deliver transformative education projects that engage and inspire.
Our work
We run a wide range of theatregoing schemes and education projects for young people, families, mainstream and special state schools, alternative education providers and youth groups. We open the doors to London’s world-class theatre for those who might not otherwise have the access or opportunity and we support some of the most challenged sections of our London community.
Family First Nights
Now in its 21st year, Family First Nights is one of our largest and longest-running programmes. Since its launch, FFN has enabled over 10,000 disadvantaged London families to visit the theatre, many for the first time, and pay just £6 per ticket.
The Mousetrap Awards
The Mousetrap Awards are the UK’s only theatre awards voted for entirely by young people. From selecting the nominees to hosting the ceremony, our talented Youth Forum runs and organises every aspect of the event.
Relaxed Performances
Our Relaxed Performances of top West End shows provide an opportunity for young people with autism, learning difficulties or other sensory and communication needs to enjoy theatre in a more relaxed environment with their family.
Theatre Openers
Each year we take students from around 150 London state secondary schools to see modern plays, classics, musicals and dance. Students get further insight into the production through practical pre-show sessions and Q&As with the cast or creative teams.
